Adrian, Thanks for finding the link. I’ve also seen printed versions of Wikipedia, in German over a year ago, however I don’t think it was something automated from a site. This is great idea.

Hi joe, maybe I am using the wrong word, then? Let me explain: I am a programmer (that’s my main activity) and I consider myself an ‘evangelist’ in the sense that I try to ‘teach’ the way of programming to people. Not just technical instructions but also how to behave properly in the community, for example, by not being trolls or single-minded limited non-professionals. Maybe ‘evangelism’ is the wrong word?

The problem with Linux is that, things often DO work but its NOT EASY to find. The 100000 splittered distributions neither make it easy to find that info, and then again these distributions tend to break something here and there anyway…

i am just glad my only real passion is ruby, and i gave up about the underlying OS as long as I can use ruby

“The nice things about the Mac make it worth the switch, though. Even after having used the Mac as my primary machine for 6 months, I’m still impressed that I can just close the laptop and it’ll go to sleep automatically. That never worked with Linux!”

I have a MacBook running Debian Gnu/Linux KDE, and can testify that that you can sleep your machine when you close the lid. W/ kpowersave installed, under KPowersave Settings’ General Tab, there is a Button Events section where you can configure; Lid close, to either; Shutdown, Suspend to Disk, or Suspend to RAM.

And there’s a site (I forget its name) that will print a paper book from a series of Wikipedia articles that you specify – that blew my mind, the first time I saw it.
